Barclays retail arm all shook up

Now that ex-Barclaycard boss Antony Jenkins has become global retail banking chief, Barclays' UK retail banking head Deanna Oppenheimer is in the slightly awkward position of reporting to her former peer.

Both Ms Oppenheimer - who joined Barclays from Washington Mutual in 2005 - and former Citigroup executive Mr Jenkins were part of Frits Seegers' empire before the latest shake-up. The 51-year-old Ms Oppenheimer has steered the UK retail banking division through uncertain times and in a nod to her record, she has been given the additional title of vice-chair of global retail banking.
