Countries urged to overhaul water supply management

Radical reform of the way water supplies are managed is the only way to solve the world’s water crisis, governments have been told.

The amount of water needed to grow food could be halved, scientists have told an international conference on water in Stockholm, which on Monday heard that one in three of the planet’s inhabitants were short of water.
