Haldeman once said: “Every president needs a son of a bitch and I’m Nixon’s.” Rahm Emanuel, the pugnacious and occasionally foul-mouthed Democratic congressman from Illinois, can easily be imagined muttering something similar after accepting the same job from Barack Obama on Thursday.
