Push starts to make ‘Digital Britain’ law

The culmination of more than a year’s work on boosting a “Digital Britain” was published on Friday as the UK government put forward legislation to tackle illegal file sharing and abuse of internet domain names, protect local news provision and add age ratings to video games.

However, completion of the mission to “reboot Britain”, begun by Lord Carter in October last year, is at risk of falling victim to a constrained parliamentary timetable.
