Apple faces a new threat to iTunes music

Apple Computer’s iTunes online music store could be shut down across Scandinavia following joint action by three Nordic nations to force it to make downloaded songs usable on all digital music players.

The popular iTunes service prevents users from playing music they have downloaded on any portable player other than Apple’s own iPod. The company faces a series of fines followed by court action.
