Deutsche Postbank said it had stabilised its capital position but warned that it was still not free of the effects of the financial crisis after it fell to another quarter of pre-tax losses.
Marc Hess, chief financial officer of Germany’s biggest retail bank, said the bank had “spotted a turning point” in the crisis but warned that concerted action to lower interest rates had put margins under pressure at Postbank and other banks with large deposits.
