Europe pushes for code for placement agents

Europe’s private equity industry has published a code of conduct for placement agents, which help buy-out and venture capital groups to raise money, highlighting its growing concern over the corruption scandal at a New York pension fund.

Several big US pension funds have responded to the scandal by announcing a ban on investing via placement agents and others are reviewing their policy on the use of such intermediaries.
