BT expects to cut its workforce further in 2009-10, its chief executive revealed on Thursday as he outlined plans to axe 10,000 jobs in 2008-09.

Ian Livingston told the Financial Times he wanted to reduce BT’s operating costs, which stood at £18.2bn in 2007-08, by £1.25bn although he declined to set a timetable for the cut.
