DSG fails to tempt German rival

DSG International, the owner of Currys and PC World, has sounded out Media Markt, its biggest European rival, to see whether it would be interested in buying the group.

Media Markt, which is owned by Germany’s Metro, rebuffed the informal approach, which was first made in spring and which extended to the entire group, not merely DSG’s southern European businesses that are now being reviewed.
