Shanghai leads Asian markets

Chinese stocks carved a deep V-shape this week, plunging on Monday before rallying for four days on speculation that the government would introduce measures to support the market.

The speculation appeared well founded late on Friday, after the Shanghai market closed, when China unveiled a draft proposal to raise the limit on foreign investment in mainland shares.
