Banks face trial in Texas on Clear Channel

A group of Wall Street banks will face trial in a Texas state court over the failed $19bn Clear Channel buy-out after they were unsuccessful in convincing a federal court to take up the case.

The ruling, by federal judge Orlando Garcia, marks a setback for the banks, led by Citigroup, who are concerned that they could receive a hostile reception in court in Clear Channel’s home state.
