Minister ignores political risk to press on with post office closures

Pat McFadden, post office minister, will today risk further political damage to the government by making clear he will press ahead with controversial closures.

Mr McFadden will tell the annual conference of the National Federation of Subpostmasters that the post office network has no choice but to continue to reorganise itself and modernise if it is face the challenges of "lifestyle, technology, and competition".
