Tata pledges to preserve historic identities

Tata on Wednesday pledged to preserve Jaguar and Land Rover’s identities and to manage them at arm’s length – signalling the new owner’s conviction that for all their troubles neither British brand is a broken business.

After losing its way in recent years with models criticised as Americanised or dowdy, Jaguar is narrowing its financial losses and recently launched the XF, its well-reviewed sports saloon.
