Insurers miss out on FTSE rally

The FTSE 100 edged to a one-month closing high on Thursday, but insurers were left behind.

The sector ran into profit-taking after AIG said difficult markets may delay its disposal plans. The comments added to worries that a recovery remained distant, with cash generation and solvency levels remaining stretched next year.
