Hutchison Telecommunications International (HTIL) is still sitting on $4.6bn in cash that it reaped from the controversial sale of its Indian arm to Vodafone, more than a year after the deal was concluded.
Dennis Lui, HTIL chief executive, said the company would decide by the end of the year what to do with the money, on which it earned less than 3 per cent interest last year.
