Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft maker, is cutting more than 4,200 jobs or around 20 per cent of its workforce of 21,350 in response to the deepening recession.
The group, the world’s leading maker of regional jets of up 120 seats and a fast-growing supplier of business jets, said it was being forced to reduce output and to cut costs “as a consequence of the unprecedented crisis affecting the global economy”.
