Debt concerns hurt South Korean banks

South Korean stocks suffered their worst one-day fall for a month on Tuesday amid growing concerns that local banks may struggle to repay overseas debt.

The benchmark Kospi index fell 4.1 per cent to a three-week low of 1,127.19 as foreign investors remained net sellers of equities for a sixth successive session.
