Renewables lead Europe lower

Renewables led European shares lower on Friday, as the continent’s benchmark index fell back below 1,000.

Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa was the week’s biggest loser after tumbling 6.7 per cent to €13.85 on Friday. The drop followed the resignation of Guillermo Ulacia, chairman, and the appointment of banker Jorge Calvet as his successor.
