Door reopens on UK housing market

For a painful 18 months amid falling property values and share prices, the housing industry has been desperately looking for a turn in its fortunes.

Now it is at last beginning to see signs of light. Both Taylor Wimpey and Bellway this week joined their peers Barratt and Persimmon in saying they finally expected no further writedowns in the value of their key asset – land.
