Ingushetia leader hurt in attempted assassination

The president of Russia’s southern region of Ingushetia was seriously wounded on Monday in an assassination attempt that marked a fresh setback in the Kremlin’s campaign against terrorism in the north Caucasus.

Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, the regional leader, suffered multiple injuries when a bomb in a parked car exploded as his motorcade passed by near Nazran, the capital of the region.
