Economy: In bed with the US elephant

Predictions about the US economy become more gloomy by the day so economists in Mexico are starting to ask themselves about the likely knock-on effects south of the border.

Will the economy falter and enter recession, as it did during the last US downturn in 2001? Or are conditions sufficiently different this time around to merit a little more optimism?
