EDS expects 2,400 to go in US

Electronic Data Systems, the world’s second-biggest IT services company, on Friday said it expected about 2,400 US employees to agree to accept early retirement as part of a restructuring plan.

The news came as the Texas-based group reported a sharp rise in net profit for the third quarter as a raft of new contract signings boosted sales.
