Kennedy seeks to replace Clinton

Caroline Kennedy has launched a bid to extend her family’s political dynasty by replacing Hillary Clinton in the US Senate when the former first lady vacates her seat next year.

The daughter of President John F. Kennedy on Monday formally put her name forward for consideration by David Paterson, the New York governor, whose job it is to appoint a successor to Mrs Clinton.
