Africa ‘should boost malaria spending’

African countries should substantially boost spending on healthcare and slash tariffs on drugs, insecticides and bed nets as part of a programme swiftly to step up the fight against malaria, a British parliamentary group said on Thursday.

The All Party Parliamentary Malaria Group report on financing mechanisms for tackling malaria called for immediate action to increase funding and to ensure resources were deployed most effectively.
