Braemar maintains optimism in rough waters

Senior managers at Braemar Shipping Services talked up the prospects for the shipbroking and shipping services group despite one of the most severe downturns in its history.

They were speaking after the group reported pre-tax profits for the six months to August 31 of £7.02m, down from £9.79m in the first half of 2008, when the company benefited from record earnings in dry bulk shipping.
