Indonesia stocks jump after rates held

Indonesian stocks put in a strong performance on Wednesday after the country’s central bank kept interest rates at a record low of 6.5 per cent and signalled that it was in no hurry to begin tightening.

The Jakarta Composite index rose 1.6 per cent to 2,371.86. Benchmark bond yields fell and the rupiah bounced off the day’s low.
