Russia and the European Union agreed yesterday to deepen co-operation across a wide range of areas, in a sign of improving rela-tions between Moscow and Brussels.

The four "road maps" adopted at an EU-Russia summit in Moscow include promises to make visa rules simpler for travel between Russia and the EU, and commitments to step up co-ordination in international diplomacy.
