Burrows confirmed as BAT chairman

Richard Burrows, the former Bank of Ireland chairman and spirits industry veteran, was on Wednesday named the next non-executive chairman of British American Tobacco.

The 63-year-old Irishman will join the board of the tobacco group at the start of September, before becoming chairman on November 1, when Jan du Plessis, the current occupant of that role, steps down.
