Samuel Israel, the former hedge fund manager who had been on the run for almost a month since faking his own death, was on Wednesday taken into custody in Massachusetts.

The office of US attorney Michael Garcia confirmed Mr Israel surrendered to police in Southwick, Massachusetts, but did not immediately give further details.
