Relief agencies expect to be able to amplify help to stricken Zimbabwe after the government on Thursday declared the cholera epidemic to be an emergency.

The announcement was made by the health minister, David Parirenyatwa and disclosed in an article published in the pro-government newspaper, The Herald.
