Sir, I hope it is not foolhardy to disagree with both Robin Lane Fox and Lady Berrill (House & Home, October 24 and Letters, October 31), but I am using a different strategy to protect my bulbs. Until now I have had very little success with either crocuses or fritillaria; I have always blamed field mice for my failure.
