Russian group may struggle to meet commitments

When Gazprom, the world's biggest gas company, celebrated its 15th anniversary last month, thousands of its executives filled the vast Kremlin palace for a lavish evening of congratulations and live rock music.

On the face of it, the dignitaries - including Vladimir Putin and his successor as both Gazprom chairman, and President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev - had much to celebrate.
