Benefits of swine flu drug questioned

The medicine now being widely handed out by the government for treating pandemic flu offers only modest benefit in children and adults in seasonal outbreaks of the virus, according to British researchers.

The findings will spark a fresh debate over the wisdom of the UK government – and many others in the developed world – to spend hundreds of millions of pounds on stockpiling Tamiflu and establishing systems for its easy prescription.
