Romanian minister upbeat over reforms

Time is short for Romania’s new justice minister, Catalin Predoiu, who in a few months faces the European Commission’s verdict on the state of the country’s legal system.

However, Mr Predoiu has expressed optimism that his country will have made enough progress on judicial reform in spite of the fact that the post he has inherited has proved in the past to be something of a poisoned chalice.
