Saab left out in the cold as GM cuts it adrift

The future of Saab, the sporty Swedish car brand, looks in doubt following General Motors' decision to cut it adrift and the Swedish government's refusal to take it over.

Swedish media reported yesterday that the unit was poised to file for protection from creditors, though the company refused to comment.
