Scottish & Southern to raise £479m

Scottish & Southern Energy on Wednesday tested the market’s appetite for equity by placing about 40m shares at £11.40 each, raising £479m.

The equity issue by the UK’s second-largest energy provider came as it finalised plans for a £300m investment in two wind farms.
