Inquiry launched into McNulty’s expenses

The political career of Tony McNulty, employment minister, could be in doubt after the parliamentary standards watchdog on Wednesday night launched a preliminary inquiry into his expenses.

A complaint was lodged against Mr McNulty after it emerged that he claimed at least £60,000 ($88,000) to pay for a house where his parents live, which is less than 10 miles from his main home and the Commons.
