BSkyB unveils HD’s successor

Hard-pressed consumers have dug deep in their pockets for new high-definition televisions, only to find that they may soon need to upgrade their sets again – to 3-D.

British Sky Broadcasting is on Thursday claiming a broadcasting first with its demonstration of 3-D TV in the home. Earlier this year, the satellite broadcaster filmed Ricky Hatton boxing, England rugby and Liverpool football matches using 3-D camera rigs, as well as its Gladiators entertainment show.
