Consolidation in the video games industry is not just a UK phenomenon - it is also occuring in France.

There, Ubisoft, the games publisher, has been at the centre of intense takeover speculation since December, when Electronic Arts of the US, the world's largest video games publisher, bought a 20 per cent stake.
