Doubts raised over new nuclear plants

Doubts have been raised over the government's ability to push ahead with new nuclear power stations.

The Commons environmental audit committee is expected to say tomorrow that the economic viability of new nuclear plants has not been proved and that concerns over the safety of the disposal of nuclear waste, and the possibility of terrorist attack on nuclear facilities, have not been allayed.
