Gordon Brown will on Monday unveil the government’s new manufacturing strategy, designed to put Britain at the forefront of developing low carbon technologies and to attract more school-leavers into the sector.

The strategy will set out plans to create a Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry and two Whitehall units to help British manufacturers cash in on the new wave of nuclear and renewable power generation.
