Linux is not 'free' - it just works well

Sir, I am always perplexed by the simplistic assessment of the factors that have propelled Linux to the shortlist of leading global enterprises. The argument is naively focused on open source and the misconception that this is analogous to "free". The free myth is perpetuated only by the "for profit" competition in an attempt to distract attention from the real issues that Linux solves.
