Romania’s grand coalition collapsed after just 10 months in office on Wednesday morning, leaving the country with its second minority government in less than a year, at a time of deepening economic crisis.

Ministers from the Social Democratic party walked out on their Democrat Liberal partners after the sacking of Dan Nica, the interior minister and deputy prime minister.
