Norman Lamont joined the chorus of criticism of Baroness Vadera after the business minister claimed on Wednesday she could see a few “green shoots” of economic recovery.

The former chancellor told the FT he had been subjected to ridicule for calling an end to the last recession when he made a similar remark in October 1991.
