Atos Origin chief canvasses support for plans

Thierry Breton, the former French finance minister who was recently appointed head of Atos Origin in a boardroom coup, is set to seek approval from shareholders to simplify the computer services group’s governance next month.

An extraordinary meeting has been called for February 10, at which shareholders will also be asked to approve the nomination of two new directors, Nicolas Bazire and Jean-Paul Bechat, two French establishment figures, and the confirmation of Mr Breton as chief executive.
