Expansion eats away at Gordon Ramsay

The extent of the recession's impact on Gordon Ramsay's restaurant empire has been exposed after his holding company reported a near 90 per cent fall in annual pre-tax profits.

Accounts filed by Gordon Ramsay Holdings yesterday showed that Mr Ramsay and Chris Hutcheson, his father-in-law and business partner, injected £5m of their own money into the business to avoid administration.
