Miserable data halt US dollar’s rally

The dollar put in its worst performance in more than a year this week as miserable US economic data combined with thin trading conditions to halt the currency’s recent strong run.

Analysts said weaker US housing and durable goods orders figures had helped to cement expectations that the Federal Reserve would cut US interest rates at its January meeting.
