Techs lead burst of strength in India

Indian stocks shone brightly on Wednesday amid gloomy Asian markets, bolstered by short covering in blue chips and gains in technology groups.

Investors picked up oversold stocks in Mumbai after the market tumbled more than 10 per cent in the previous three days, helping the BSE Sensex index leap 5.4 per cent to 13,664.62, its third-highest percentage rise.
