Inflation woes heighten investors’ uncertainty

Inflation concerns were never far from investors’ minds this week as oil maintained its gravity-defying performance and the Bank of England sent a shiver through the markets with an exceptionally gloomy economic forecast.

Riccardo Barbieri, head of strategy at Bank of America, noted that the surge in energy prices was being accompanied by a sharp rise in food commodities – heightening the potential impact on inflation.
