Bush team in effort to talk up economy

President George W. Bush is leading an effort to talk up the good performance of the US economy, with administration officials today fanning out across the country to meet business leaders and make public appearances.

Mr Bush, in a speech in Chicago today, will talk about the importance of promoting economic growth, including making permanent the tax cuts passed in his first term, some of which are set to expire. He will also stress the importance of promoting education and free trade.
